Perry was born to Laurie Metcalf (actor) and Jeff Perry (actor). Two of her earliest television performances were Jackie Harris on ABC's sitcom Roseanne. Her mother played her role. In the year 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. In 2017, Perry starred in an appearance on ABC's political thriller Scandal along with her father. In addition, she played her younger Mary Cooper in Young Sheldon - which is a CBS spin-off from The Big Bang Theory. Despite the fact that she has a connection with her family to the character she received the role through an audition.
